You’ve head the song, “It’s Raining Men”? For a long time I was sure this place existed somewhere, and it was my mission to find it.
I looked for clues in the song, but the only thing I could gather was that it was randomly going to rain men… somewhere. Outside I think?
Of course, there are plenty of places where men gather, though I’m not sure I want to hang out there, like at strip joints, casinos, or a mechanic’s shop. I guess the better question is, Where do the single, upstanding, handsome men hang out? The men I want to date?
Here are 6 top places to meet men worth dating:
CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS
Professional men who are looking to network or do some good in their local area will join clubs or civic organizations. You could always go with the intention of learning more about the organization, while scoping out the men. They typically have lunch talks, a mix and mingle, and charity events.
CHURCH
So a lot of men may be found watching the game at a bar on Sundays, but they’re typically going to be riled up and only pay attention to the TV screen. Why not try church? Men who go there are devoted to bettering themselves and their relationship with a higher power. Maybe he’ll have a little room in his life for some dating on Saturdays.
THE GYM
I need to differentiate the guys at the gym first–there are those who spend hours and hours pumping iron and they tend to be more focused on their own physiques than on looking for love. But there are plenty of hard-working men who go to the gym a few times a week to keep fit and strong. You can find these men after work hours on the treadmill or even taking a core class. Try the different areas and classes your gym offers and see what you can find.
COLLEGE
No matter your age, you may be dreaming about dating a cute college guy. But even if you’re a bit older, you can definitely find guys your age at college. Many upstanding gentleman want to expand their brains and further their careers by going back to school–maybe for an MBA or other master’s program. Check out traditional college campuses and also satellite locations in smaller cities.
AT WORK
I can’t tell you how many friendly men I’ve met who work behind the desk or counter or at any number of businesses. Keep your eyes open when shopping for a lawn mower, or seeking financial advice–you could find some potential dating material.
COFFEE SHOP
That guy making eyes at you from behind his latte and his laptop? He’s got the same idea you do. So why not ask if there is room at his table for you to sit down? It would basically be like a spontaneous first date, but without all the built up anticipation. This way you get to know right away if he’s someone you can see yourself with.
